Recent studies on humanities put forward the idea that if the population continues to grow without restraint and without significant attempts to deal with problems humans create like overconsumption, the vast consuming of resources and climate change issues, humanity is on the verge of an environmental catastrophe. Sheri Stewart Tepper, a prolific American writer, wrote her novel The Margarets from an
ecofeminist point of view. Tepper presents her readers the mission of Margaret Bain to save the humankind from the danger of extinction by finding a way to get back the stolen memory of humans
since memory is the fundamental element in uniting the humans, and ultimately making them perfect
humans.
